Modern Design: Casa Brava, Sayulita, Mexico

Casa Brava is a stunning contemporary villa that seamlessly blends modern architecture with a gorgeous tropical setting. It’s located on the top of one of Sayulita’s highest hills, giving guests 360 degree views of the jungle, the ocean, and the town of Sayulita, and is only a 10 minute walk to the beach.
There is amazing bird watching from the house: the little green parrots, the Black-throated Magpie Jays, Macaws and even Chachalacas ( if you never see one, you’ll know it when you hear it); these are a few of the 336 species living IN the area. Let us arrange for an incredible whale watching tour from December until early March. The tour is led by a renowned research oceanographer who follows the Humpback migrations up and down the North American coast and also knows the different whales’ names by sight and songs. Hike through the jungle to secluded beaches and picnic before jumping into the surf.
The home was designed by a well known Mexican architect in true contemporary style using poured in place concrete with entire walls of glass and with wonderful inside/outside living areas. Handcrafted custom Parota wood louvered doors open onto decks, patios, the garden and pool area. Every individual detail was carefully chosen to compliment and enhance the unique and comfortable design, such as the onyx walls, honed granite counters, and custom made furniture. The king sized beds feature Egyptian cotton sheets; a perfect spot to relax and watch one of the 300+ DVD titles in the media library. If you can’t completely leave the outside world behind, there is WIFI throughout and unlimited calls to the United States and Canada.
Casa Brava contains two houses – a 2-bedroom/2-bathroom main house and 1-bedroom/1-bath guest house – and an additional studio apartment. Each unit gives guests total privacy and offers the the same blend of modern architecture and tropical lifestyle. Though each unit can be rented individually, when rented together, the Casa Brava becomes the perfect home for families, friends, and groups traveling in Mexico.
Special arrangements can be made to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, including arranging for transportation, organizing whale watching tours, and hiring a private cook.
Depending on which unit is rented, amenities include a 12′x24′ infinity pool, several terraces and hammocks for outdoor lounging, full kitchen, and access to a rooftop garden. See “Info/Rates” section for full details.

The most fabulous vacation ever!”
We stayed at Casa Brava to celebrate my sister’s 30th birthday, it was just us 4 girls. We had the most amazing time! The house was above and beyond what we had expected. It was literally breathtaking. Every aspect of our stay was fantastic, the house itself, all of it’s amenities, the views, the house staff, especially Felipe, who was on hand at the drop of a hat to make sure we had everything we needed. The complementary bottle of tequila and snacks that welcomed us was such a pleasant surprise and made us feel so special, we seriously felt like we were getting the celebrity treatment. We had perma grins the whole week! We ventured into town a few times but always ended up wanting to get back to the house because it was so inclusive. We cooked almost all of our meals there, the views and space made it so relaxing. I wish we could have stayed longer, none of us wanted to leave. I would live at Casa Brava 6 months out of the year if I could but as it is I will have to settle for frequent vacations. We will definitely be back! Thank you for sharing your beautiful house!

“26th wedding anniversary celebration”
My husband and I rented the apartment for 5 nights in celebration of our anniversary. Loved every minute of it! This house is exquisite: amazing architecture, beautiful spaces, amazing views of sayulita and very private. We would recommend it highly and hope to return to sayulita soon. Sayulita is by far our favorite of several places we have visited in mexico. We would like to mention that Felipe was wonderful and went above and beyond expectations to make us feel at home. Thank you for sharing your wonderful place.

“June Vacation in Sayulita”
We had an amazing time on our trip to Sayulita, which was primarily due to the absolutely stunning setting and amenities at Casa Brava. The house was extremely liveable and comfortable, with really clean, yet dramatic lines and simple beauty. Every room has a view and optimizes the outdoors and the stunning natural surroundings of the Pacific coastline. The house staff was very accomodating and resourceful when we had questions or needed a hand. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely return to this peaceful, beautiful place.

“How do you say WOW in spanish?”
We were three couples, all world travelers and not easily impressed but the minute we arrived we knew we were in for a treat. Walking in was like entering a magazine layout; the architecture has such wow factor that we wanted to start taking photos. The view of the ocean, the town of Sayulita and the jungle covered hills is breathtaking. We found it hard to leave the house to do anything else. After a day of traveling, it was a nice surprise to find that the owners had left us goodies to eat and drink.
The bedrooms have king sized beds with super soft cotton sheets and white netting (for bugs, but we never had any) and flat screen tvs with several hundred dvds to watch. There are two saltwater pools! Floating in saltwater and watching shooting stars was the highlight of my trip. I don’t think that I have ever been as relaxed as I was at that moment.
We took turns cooking in the brand new kitchen (I think the house is only a year old) and eating out by the pool. The house staff was so helpful and attentive, they even arranged for a cook to come in and prepare an amazing meal for us one night. Ask for Carmen….her shrimp ceviche alone is worth the trip. We’re already planning a return trip.
