In the desert: Highdesert Homestead, Joshua Tree

Located in the rugged hills of Joshua Tree’s northern boundary, Highdesert Homestead is surrounded by boulders, cacti and Joshua trees. By day, it’s the perfect location for getting to know the California national park (and its abundant wildlife). By night, it provides a tranquil starlit retreat to take in the spiritual beauty of J-Tree.
Originally built as a homesteader’s cabin in 1957, it was recently renovated to be a minimal, modern getaway that accomodates up to 4 people. The Homestead has two bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms, and has been updated using environmentally-friendly methods. All furnishings are handmade by the owner for a homespun feel.
