Grettisborg Apartments are 6 brand new self-catering apartments in the best location possible in Reykjavík. Tucked away in a cosy courtyard next to the main shopping street Laugavegur, you will enjoy peace and quiet while being within close proximity of the shops, restaurants and night life. The best galleries, museums and theatres are within easy walking distance. A swimming pool is a stone throw away as well as famous Hallgrimskirkja Church. Parks and playgrounds are also nearby. 

There is a lovely south facing patio area in front of the flats which can be used to enjoy barbecuing and outdoor dining on those sunny days. This is a great way to experience the remarkably quiet residential area right in the heart of the City. 

Designers Rósa and Snæbjörn’s goal was to design elegant, luxurious flats for the independent budget traveller. The layout as well as all the interior is designed by the couple.The apartment house is in the back garden of the family home. The house dates from the 1920´s but has undergone complete renovation.

The couple use a mixture of contemporary Icelandic design and recycled products in the apartments. The artwork is all done by Icelandic artists. This is to promote Iceland´s up and coming creative people, as well as making it possible for the visitor to experience or even purchase what´s on show.

Apartment 1 is a studio apartment with a separate kitchen. The living/sleeping area has a double bed can be split into twin beds and a sofa bed. 

Apartments 2,3,4,5 and 6 all have a separate bedroom with a double bed that can be split into 2 twin beds. A comfortable sofa bed in the living room can be made into a double bed or two single beds. The sofa can also be split into 3 children´s beds.

Apartments 5 and 6 are located on the top floor and also have a balcony and a bathtubwith shower.

The fully equipped apartments are suitable for up to 4 single adults / 2 couples and/or couple with up to 4 children. For larger groups it is possible to combine apartments 5 and 6 to make one big apartment which sleeps up to 8 adults.
