Longview Ranch, Ukiah, California

Longview Ranch is an amazing modern home set on 187 acres of private land in gorgeous Mendocino County. Originally an industrial workshop, Longview is now a modern home nestled into a beautiful, rugged landscape.
Longview Ranch boasts a gourmet kitchen and two 10-person dining tables (one indoors, one outdoors). A picnic lunch on one of the property’s scenic outlooks is not to be missed. Catering is available, though Ukiah’s food co-op makes it easy to purchase fresh produce.
Longview Ranch is an ideal property for couples with young children. There is 1,000 square foot open studio for the kids to play in, along with a porch, fenced yard, several tree swings, and a hilltop fairy ring for picnics, tea parties, and tree climbs. The property owner also provides toys and 2 cribs are available in addition to beds. The ranch is totally babyproofed and basic First Aid is provided.
The ranch is just a mile from Orr Hot Springs Resorts, where guests can enjoy spa treatments, and it’s also located very close to Montgomery Woods, a redwood grove. Nearby Mendocino Village, Anderson Valley wine country, and Hopland are great options for day trips.

The Longview Ranch is a beautiful, modern home in a serene and remote setting. The home itself is bright and open with lots of windows to take in the beautiful views. There is an amazing, enormous indoor open space which was perfect for our 11 month old to play and practice walking. The property itself is perfect for getting away from the hustle and noise of the city. We took several hikes through the property and enjoyed the silence, solitude and scenery that the area provided. Heidi was very kind and helpful with suggestions of nearby places to visit if/when we wanted to venture out of the comforts of the ranch. The Montgomery Woods State Natural Reserve is a few minutes down the road and offers a wonderful short hike. We look forward to another visit to the area and will definitely choose to stay at the Longview Ranch again and again.

“A magical mountaintop!”
If you have ever fantasized about a simple, modern dwelling situated in open space with spectacular views of nature in every direction….. this is truly it! We recently took our 2 year old daughter here for a weekend getaway and were absolutely enchanted with this property. During the daytime, we explored the hillsides by following grassy roads and traversing deer paths. The air was heavy with the scent of eucalyptus and alpine Bay trees and the woods were alive with animal sounds. At night, we were cozy in the lofty Great room and toasty around the wood fireplace. The kitchen is very well-equipped with appliances as well as plates and flatware. The dining table can easily accommodate 8 – also there is a table outside that we used on a particularly sunny afternoon. The beds and baths are comfortable and simply decorated. Make sure to bring slippers though since the floors are concrete! We can’t wait to return to this hideaway — until we find our own magical mountaintop, we will love returning to Longview.
