A Country Retreat and Spa in the Alentejo

We love the fresh, zen minimalism of the interiors, the crisp cleanly designed lines inside and out, and the subtle infusion of natural elements here. Situated in the rustic Alentejo, this is modern country living at its best.

A Country Retreat and Spa in the Alentejo

Nestled into a beautiful 17-acre estate and adjacent to Herdade da Comporta, this boutique hotel is a modern homage to the cultural heritage and authentic country life of the Alentejo.

Surrounded by pine and cork forest, vineyards, rice fields, and over 50 kilometers of pristine coastline, it inhabits some of the most beautiful landscapes of Portugal.

Designed in the traditional Portuguese style, the interiors take a departure into contemporary minimalism and soothing atmospheric modernism. Subtly elegant, the neutral colors, contemporary furnishings, and decor and natural accents coexist beautifully.

With a total of 23 rooms and suites in the main building and a short stroll away, plus 22 separate villas, this hotel offers options to suit almost any configuration of guests. All are bright and spacious and designed with open floor plans and floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces that merge the indoor and outdoor environments.

Breakfast is included and is served at Sem Porta, the main restaurant. There are three additional restaurants: Food Circle, which offers fine farm-to-table dining, the al-fresco Tasca da Comporta, which serves sophisticated traditional Portuguese petiscos such as octopus salad and chorizo, and the new Sublime Comporta Beach Club, which offers local seafood and international options. There is also a lobby bar that serves cocktails and snacks.

The wellness center includes an indoor heated pool, sauna, and steam bath with spa treatments available. The grounds are beautifully designed to appreciate the rugged natural beauty and feature lovely gardens and a large pool and lounge area.

Private, tranquil, and welcoming, this hotel invites you to enjoy the simple life of the country, great food and wine, and life's luxuries in comfort and style.

    COMPORTA'S ATLANTIC COAST

Just an hour's drive south of Lisbon, the Comporta area of the Alentejo is ideally positioned to enjoy both the countryside and the Atlantic coastal areas. Praia do Pego and Praia Carvalhal are among Portugal’s most beautiful beaches and are within a ten-minute drive or cycle.

The lovely former fishing village of Comporta on the Troia Peninsula is fast becoming a popular spot for the stylish crowd but thankfully retains its laid-back vibe and windswept natural beauty. A little further south the rural Serra do Grandola valley gives way to the traditional villages of Grandola and Melides and its five-mile-long stretch of sand that separates the sea and the lagoon. Santiago do Cacem the ancient Moorish and later colonial community with quaint cobblestone streets and fortifications is just a few minutes further south along with the stunning ancient Roman settlement of Miróbriga. Setubal and the Sado estuary region is a short drive north.
