It’s a location, perched in the Himalayas on a plateau, 7,000 feet above sea level, that encourages you to slow down, a space that begs you to ‘just be’. To get there, take an overnight train or a charter flight from Delhi, then drive for seven hours on hairpin bends through the mountains, before disembarking for a one-and-a-half-hour trek along a narrow trail along a cliff’s edge. Parent company Shakti created the ‘camp’ as an experience for travelers who’re used to luxury but crave something more ‘authentic’. A well-appointed hotel that makes a minimal impact on its environment, but shows it off to best advantage.
