Did you personally stay in all of these places ?
Yes we have stayed in a number of them, are friends with many of the owners and plan to visit more. Remember, ’1000 Places To Stay Before You Die’.
Why are you re-thinking hospitality?
We feel that we are not alone with our passion for design and travel and a desire to stay in visually stylish properties that are as heartwarming as they are different with a genuine sense of place. Or, think of really small hotels with no traditional ‘front desk’ anymore. Don’t they need a new name and a new way of finding them ?
What does ‘ephemere’ mean?
It’s a French word meaning transitory or short lived, often used to describe flowers or insects, that exist for only one day. Places you come, stay and leave. One-night stands, so to speak.
Can I become a member or subscribe to receive discounts?
Soon. We are working on a ‘member only ‘ section where we might offer special discounts, among other things.
Where do I contact the property owner?
While viewing a particular property you see on top the tab ‘CONTACT’ , that’s where you can contact the owner directly.
Who is your webmaster or web designer?
We are working with several, freelance or in-house. Let us know what you want to know in particular and we get back to you.
What’s the difference between a vacation rental and a small hotel?
Vacation properties are privately owned homes while our small hotels are really personal intimate hotels or mini compounds where you might bump into other guests. Vacation homes are usually self catering, while very small hotels might offer some sort of food service.
