Pet Friendly Yosemite: A Dog’s Tale

Hey! It's me again, your family pet. Remember how I was telling you about all the fun places we can go on vacation together? Well, I got a letter from my friend Murray the Dog. He just got back from visiting Yosemite where he stayed in a really cool cabin on Old Yosemite Road, very close to the national park. He had such great fun that I wanted to share his letter so you know that there's a chic, pet-friendly cabin where we can stay together.

Dear Marcel -
How's life at the dog sitter's? I just got back from an awesome vacation with my parents in Yosemite. I've never had so much fun in my life! There was so much to do, see, and sniff. At first, Mom and Dad were worried I wouldn't be able to go because it's hard to find cool cabins that are okay with dogs. Fortunately they booked a stay at Old Yosemite Road, a totally pet-friendly cabin near the South Entrance of the national park. It was great! This is us on the deck.

Here I am inside the cabin. It's a one-bedroom with lots of outdoor space; the perfect size for the three of us. I loved hanging out on the cool wood floor while my humans were catching up on email. Yes, there's wi-fi!

Old Yosemite Road cabin was a dog's dream because I got to spend lots of quality bonding time with my humans. We were cuddling, cooking, and running around together all day! It was much better than being at home. The weather was great so my humans ate breakfast outside every morning. (They wouldn't let me eat any even though they didn't finish the sausage! Grrr…)

We were surrounded by mountains, trees, flowers, trails, and all sorts of fun, good-smelling things. I think you can tell from the photo that the humans and I had a great time exploring Yosemite together.

Yosemite was like dog heaven. There was so much open space to run around in and cool stuff to jump on. I felt like a king!

Being so near to Yosemite was a real treat. I woke up every day super excited to go out and explore. It was a good thing Mom kept me on the leash, otherwise I probably would've run away and become wild. One day we went out to check out the redwoods.

I had never seen trees so tall.

We never wanted to leave.

It was truly the perfect getaway. You should tell your humans to take you to Old Yosemite Road cabin so you can have a great time exploring Yosemite and the High Sierras. I know that they still have some availability over the summer so tell your human to check it out here!

Until next time!
